At Lady Margaret Primary School each term has a different ‘topic’ as its focus, and through this the new content of the 2014 National Curriculum is delivered. Having a topical themed half terms allows children to make links between the skills that they use in each subject and to consolidate their learning in different areas.
At Lady Margaret aim for the children to be active learners and we are dedicated to making learning come alive. We want the learning to be engaging and exciting so that the children come to school wanting to learn. A Chinese proverb states ‘Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I may remember. But involve me, and I’ll understand.’ This is what underpins the way we teach History at Lady Margaret Primary School.
